Reporting to ­the VP, International Marketing this position will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the overall portfolio strategy for the EMEA region to achieve and/or exceed the financial plan and strategic goals. The Senior Portfolio Manager (m/f/d) will be based in Netherlands, Germany or UK and will be travelling 50-75% in the EMEA region.

In this position, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of STERIS Endoscopy’s strategic objectives in the assigned region including upstream portfolio needs and support of downstream marketing initiatives as needed.  Success in this position will be achieved in close collaboration with STERIS Endoscopy’s Product Management team as well as the local commercial organization and through effective implementation in the following areas: 

•    Portfolio & Marketing Strategy for assigned region
•    Market Research & VOC input for business cases for new product development, sourcing and business development opportunities
•    Effective product launch process & planning
•    Leadership and Team Building with both Product Management team and Commercial organization

Duties

The main duties of this role include but are not limited to the following: 

 

Marketing Strategy for Procedural & Product Planning:

  • Develop and implement strategic & tactical plans including regional portfolio roadmaps and product strategies to ensure profitability and growth in collaboration with the Commercial and Product Management teams.
  • Conduct ongoing market research and competitive analysis to possess in-depth knowledge of assigned, procedures, Customers, and products.
  • Maintain a broad understanding of standards, associated guidelines and registration requirements for key markets.
  • Active engagement in sales meetings, national & regional conferences and events. - which can be national or international requiring regional travel

 

Market Research & New Product Development (NPD)

  • Identify portfolio gaps, develop business cases to drive NPD, Business Development, Strategic Sourcing and Sustaining resources and actively communicate with Product Managers.  Expand market share, improve Customer experience and drive growth in region.
  • Develop productive KOL relationships within assigned region to gain a deep understanding of Customer experience with portfolio through Voice of Customer (VOC) research.
  • Manage the regional commercialization of a new product including the development of regionalized product launch packages and marketing plans as well as product and Customer training. 
  • Assess market opportunity and strategic fit for new product concepts in the region.
  • Develop launch strategy and financial forecasts to successfully commercialize new products in the region

Leadership & Team Building

  • Exhibit a strong sense of urgency for executing strategic plans and achieving regional revenue goals.
  • Drive short and long-term product planning process within assigned region.
  • Champion STERIS Endoscopy’s portfolio by gaining support for compelling vision, objectives, and strategy in the assigned region.
  • Cultivate and utilize industry relationships to support VOC research in the region.
  • Maintain cohesive Product Management approach to strategic issues across assigned region.

Required Experience

BA or BS degree in business, marketing, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred)

Minimum 7 years of relevant business experience - international experience preferred

Fluent in the German & English languages, French & Italian a plus

High-level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint

Ability to collaborate and work with others in a dynamic team-based environment

Strong analytic and strategic thinking ability

Ability to complete assignments of an advanced degree of complexity, working under little supervision on specific tasks or projects

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
