Position Summary

The Regional Engineering Manager is the onsite Subject Matter Expert for all Accelerator Technologies and associated conveyance and storage systems.

Responsibilities are, but not limited to:

  • Primary expert to development, project management, contractor selection/supervision, and results of engineering projects designed to increase capacity or improve operational performance, reduce cost, enhance safety, or establish compliance.
  • Provides guidance, support, and direction to engineering facility teams, facility maintenance/operations and is a technical expert for multiple engineering projects.

Duties

  • Working with IBA Rhodotron and Mevex accelerator and conveyor technologies (hardware and software), conveyor transportation technologies and automated warehousing.
  • Acts as a source of information for fellow sites in the international network in the field of IBA Rhodotron technology, Mevex accelerators, conveyors, automated warehousing, and conveyor control systems. Participates in technical consultations between various STERIS E-beam and X-ray plants. 
  • Work directly with vendors and suppliers to select electrical components/subassemblies that comply with machine requirements and specifications.  
  • Manage project teams including meetings, documentation, budget, and communication materials.
  • Plans, organizes, and conducts technical projects, e.g., building control systems, machine/process equipment systems, process cooling systems and electrical facilities.

  • Assists in maintaining a safe, clean, secure, and efficient working environment by implementing and enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations, supports plant safety meetings that evaluate plant machinery, equipment and/or working conditions. 
  • Supports the Applied Sterilization Technologies business imperatives of Safety, Quality, Innovation, Sustainability and Lean and Customer Focus, by acting with integrity, treating everyone with mutual respect, exhibiting a genuine commitment to the success of all employees, and delivering satisfaction to our Customers through teamwork, innovation and continuous improvement; this will be accomplished while acting safely and is defined as "The STERIS Way”.
  • Drive safety standards throughout site and operational work areas 
  • To participate actively in equipment/facilities related process deviation investigations and nonconformances, ensuring root cause investigations are executed, corrective/preventive actions are identified, trained, implemented, and verified in conjunction with the Quality Operations team. 
  • Maximise plant uptime to ensure Customer satisfaction, cash flow and site targets are achieved.
  • Ensure all plant downtime is reviewed and monitored with suggestions for improvements highlighted. 

Education Degree

Required Experience

  1. Bachelor of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering degree 
  2. 5 years+ of related electrical/electronic engineering experience. 
  3. Experience with electrical engineering development tools, such as Excel, Visio/AutoCAD/EPLAN, Altium/OrCAD, SPICE 
  4. Experience of accelerator, high voltage DC prower systems, and vacuum system is an advantage,
  5. Experience with LEAN or Continuous Improvement methodology is an advantage, 
  6. 5 years+ experience in a highly regulated company is an advantage,
