The production team leader exists as a support to the manufacturing department and to assist in the supervision of the daily operations of manufacturing to ensure that the safety and manufacturing process and procedures are being adhered to. Area Leads ideally must have comprehensive knowledge with the general operations of the production floor under minimal supervision. Detail-oriented, a fast learner, and an excellent communicator to handle various task and escalate concerns as needed.

$1500 Sign on/Stay Bonus (Not applicable to internal applicants)

Schedule: 2nd Shift - 4-10's Schedule -  Monday-Thursday 

3:00 pm - 1:30 am

$1 Shift Differential

Duties

  • Maintains a safe, clean, and secure working environment by upholding procedures, rules, and regulations: monitoring all safety and security systems and procedures on a regular basis: advising management of unsafe work practices or conditions. 
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality of work completed by monitoring completed work and documented NCR’s. Ensures product is properly processed in a manner to permit accurate tracking and minimal product damage.
  • Coordinates with Supervisor/Manager about schedule concerns and requirements. Is responsible that daily task and high priority assignments are properly delegated and completed. 
  • Support and coordinates completion and delegation of Visual Management and lean Manufacturing for Production team.
  • Supports Supervisor/Manager in developing training process that addresses quality improvements of the manufacturing process and the development of individuals in the production team. Support in the development and effective implementation of work instructions, freely exchange ideas, review shift activities, documentation, and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Contributes to a team effort by performing, according to guidelines outlined in the STERIS code of Business Conduct, the GMP, Lean Principles and other directives: supports the directives and decisions of higher level management and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Support Adherence to ISO procedures, Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Lean principles.
  • Provide feedback for workflow improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including the operation of production equipment as needed to fulfill the customer demand.

Education Degree

  • High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years Manufacturing Operations Experience

Preferred Experience

  • Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience with increased responsibilities, preferably in a medical device or other regulated industry
  • SAP Knowledge 
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing practices

Pay range for this opportunity is 19.71 - $27.51.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
