Position Summary

The Global Product Manager will create diverse global marketing strategies enterprise-wide, conduct product lifecycle management (product concept through post-commercialization) activities, and define product roadmaps to drive product line growth across various country markets throughout the globe (e.g., countries in North America, Latin America, EMEA). The individual will collaborate with various global stakeholders, including country-specific commercial and sales managers, marketing communications, regulatory, quality and manufacturing to ensure that market needs are met, developed and executed to ensure profitable growth within designated product portfolios.

Duties

Creates global marketing strategies and tactics with insight from Manager for the designated product line consistent with the business unit strategies and objectives and in support of achieving established revenue, margin, and market share goals and driving leadership positions in the market 

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing leadership on the development/execution of action plans and new product launches including forecasting and financial planning/business case development; market potential/opportunity and target share; value proposition creation; competitive analysis and market trends; market pricing; product life cycle planning; product training. 
  • Develops detailed strategic road map for the development of product/business in alignment with strategic plan. 
  • Creates the marketing plan and assesses strength and sustainability of the strategic choices for designated product line  
  • Recommends initiatives that leverage unique Customer and needs and establishes unique competitive advantage. 
  • Utilizes competitive intelligence to anticipate competitive moves and determine when to deploy STERIS strategies and contingencies that outmaneuver the competition and negate their potential advantages. 
  • Analyzes global pricing positioning for designated product lines and makes recommendations based on key market assessments 
  • Creates product, brand, and business strategies for designated product line  
  • Involved in all phases of new product development (NPD) process including VOC supporting recommendations for NPD based on data and research.  
  • Support cross-functional NPD teams with market objectives when completing documentation (MRD. PRD, IOS, Labeling, etc.), feasibility testing, and risk analysis for new products and line extensions 
  • Actively participate in product testing with Customers to determine if product meets market needs 
  • Drive planning for new product launches including forecasting, sales collateral, equipment evaluation requirements, pricing guidelines, and product training.

Utilizes detailed analysis techniques regarding market trends, segment sizes, growth opportunities, competitive landscape, feasibility, profitability, product/ positioning, Voice of the Customer, Customer insights, market environment, and other critical areas. 

  • Collects data and evidence to develop strategies that strengthen value propositions. 
  • Gathers insights across markets to determine similarities, develop archetypes  
  • Supports and communicates cross-functionally to gather critical information and/or navigate challenges, including Customers, R&D, sales, quality, regulatory, finance, operations, etc.  Uses methodologies for research and analysis 
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase product penetration, including tools, resources, and programs that enhance and enable a seamless sales approach (in select regions) 
  • Proactively identify issues, opportunities and associated strategies in support of assigned products and based on information from and interactions with Customers, sales management and account managers.  
  • Regularly interact with and provide current information to field representatives to ensure awareness of product changes, pricing changes, new sales tools, corrective measures, etc.

Delivers product to market through strategic marketing, communications, promotions, training, and other effective methods  in support of achieving the value proposition and future brand/product growth and sustainability 

  • Drives strong two-way relationships with sales management that result in aligned marketing and sales planning and strategies.  
  • Collaborates with marketing communications team for effective product collateral and promotional materials.  
  • Collaborates with training specialists to develop training for sales and pertinent sales support staff. Delivers sales training and/or Customer presentations.  
  • Articulates the role competitive products and portfolios play in the market.

Leads the creation and development of product position 

  • Develops and establishes sustaining positioning  for products/brands  
  • Recommends and develops tactical initiatives that leverage unique  Customer segments and needs to establish a competitive advantage  
  • Prioritizes new product and lifecycle enhancements/management across products and markets that maximizes the value of the portfolio 
  • Globally Assesses and prioritizes value drivers that result in favorable competitive access for product lines 
  • Identifies market conditions and uses that insight to advance STERIS’s product portfolio strategy to gain or maintain competitive advantage. 
  • Accurately projects global financial performance across products .  
  • Identifies competitor vulnerabilities to exploit tactfully #LI-KS1

Education Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Communication

Required Experience

  1. 5 years of relevant business experience
  2. 5 years of experience in Product Management /Marketing (medical device product marketing experience preferred)

Preferred Experience

  1. International business and marketing experience preferred

Skills

  1. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  2. Demonstrated effective strategy implementation, planning, organizational, , , and project management skills.
  3. Fluent in Microsoft Office Applications
  4. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline driven environment.
  5. Ability to effectively apply business acumen, including financial, market , and industry trends, and market analytics.
