The Role

The Warehouse Supervisor provides leadership to Shipping and Receiving employees and supervises the functions of the warehouse to ensure the delivery of products and services are performed in a safe and efficient manner. The Warehouse Supervisor maintains communications with Customers, vendors, and internal staff regarding product transportation issues, and ensures that material handling equipment is safe and in good working order through a preventative maintenance program.

 

Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Must be open to work weekends as needed. 

What You Will Do:

  • Leads warehouse staff by assigning responsibilities, delegating authority, and selecting, orienting, and training direct reports. Provides coaching, motivation,  counseling and discipline as needed.  
  • Plans, monitors, and appraises job results and directs and maintains activities designed to achieve and maintain high employee morale; fosters intra- and inter-department cooperation. 
  • Maintains a safe, clean and secure working environment by establishing and enforcing procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Drives safe working behavior by demonstrating and promoting safe work performance; identifying and anticipating safety training needs; monitoring all safety and security systems and procedures on a regular basis, and providing personal protection to employees by promoting use of PPE, issuing monitoring devices in hazard areas as required by safety rules; supporting plant safety meetings that evaluate plant machinery, equipment and working conditions. 
  • Ensures compliance with corporate QSRC and GMP procedures by initiating and monitoring related training programs; monitoring transportation of product and scheduling activities on a daily basis; supporting daily warehouse activities and transactions as needed; maintaining frequent contact with Production, Quality and Maintenance staff. 
  • Achieves financial objectives by scheduling expenditures, initiating corrective actions; requesting and studying new regulations affecting the transportation field; advising management of needed actions.

What Else You Will Do

  • Strives for continuous improvement by analyzing new or alternative ways to improve operations; incorporates staff suggestions into analysis; investigates deviations and Customer complaints and recommends and/or implements corrective action within area of responsibility; responds to audit activities in a constructive manner and using findings to improve operations where possible.
  • Analyzes daily inventory that supports prioritizing the load schedule and may communicate data internally and externally.
  • Contributes to a team effort by performing in accordance with all STERIS policies, GMP, Lean principles and other directives; supports the directives and decisions of higher-level management and performs other duties as assigned.

What you will need to be successfull:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of  3+  years of lead or supervisory experience in warehousing and logistics position within an FDA and/or ISO controlled environment with strong Customer focus.
  • Or High School Diploma / GED  and a minimum of 8 years of lead or supervisory experience in warehousing and logistics position with FDA and/or ISO  environment with strong Customer focus.
  • Ability to effectively read, write and verbally communicate.
  • Ability to work independently under general guidelines and supervision.
  • Ability to operate industrial trucks including but not limited to forklifts, yard truck motorized pallet jacks.
  • Working proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and data management systems.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills as demonstrated through prior experience.
  • Above average organizing and analyzing skill and Level 2 math skill (four basic arithmetic functions in all units of measurement, decimals ratios, rates, percentages).
  • Ability to use data analysis to determine organizational, Customer and regulatory problems and formulate corrective action plans; attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to changing duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to influence people in their opinions, attitude, or judgements; to generalize, evaluate and make decisions in stressful situations.
  • Normal hearing range sufficient to hear alarms, bells, horns, etc.

 Pay range for this opportunity is $68,780.00 - $90,000.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
