As a Sr. Software Developer – Oracle Applications (Financial Modules) at STERIS, you will play a pivotal role in supporting, enhancing and implementation of Oracle Applications with a focus on the Oracle Financial Modules. You’ll collaborate closely with our dedicated teams to ensure seamless support, maintenance and implementation of development request and projects.

 

This is role is considered Hybrid, with the requirement of working onsite at our Mentor, OH Headquarters 3 days per week. (Relocation assistance may be considered.)

What will you do as a Sr. Software Developer – Oracle Finance Apps?

 

You will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the Oracle Financial Modules such as Accounts Payable/Receivable, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Advanced Collections and General Ledger. You will work closely with various business stakeholders and users to understand issues, gather requirements, coordinate testing and implementing solutions.

 

Oracle Application/Financial Modules Support – 30%

  • Monitor Finance Module interfaces and critical programs in production systems for errors, performance and any other abnormality
  • Customize and extend functionality within Oracle E-Business Suite, tailoring solutions to meet unique business needs.
  • Provide support to business users working on Oracle Applications - Finance Modules
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems reported by users of these modules and applications.
  • Investigate issues using vendor support website(s).
  • Create tickets or service requests with software vendor.
  • Develop scripts and other changes to programs to resolve issues
  • Investigate setup or configuration changes required in Oracle Applications
  • Work closely with other team members, the DBA team and other IT teams to resolve issues
  • Work with Business Process Owner(s) to test and make changes to Oracle Applications setup or configurations to resolve issues

Oracle Applications/Financial Module Development – 70%

  • Review and understand business requirements for development tasks assigned.
  • Develop new programs or make changes to existing programs, according to business requirements. This will be in the areas of, but not limited to: Reports, Forms, Interfaces, Alerts, Data Conversion
  • Develop test scripts and test maps/programs according to business requirements.
  • Do performance tuning of programs, screens and other objects when performance issues are reported
  • Work with business users to test programs in Development and Quality.
  • Write technical documentation and user manuals.
  • Work with DBA, System Administration teams to migrate programs to Quality and Production
  • Work with Business Process Owners to investigate new functionality in Oracle applications.
  • Work on Oracle Application upgrades
  • When or if working on a FDA validated system, participate in the validation process.

What experience, skills, and abilities will you need?

 

Your expertise as an Oracle Applications Developer coupled with a strong understanding of the Oracle Financial Modules will be key to being successful in this role.  Additional experience, skills and abilities are as follows:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years proven experience as an Oracle Applications Developer or similar ERP applications with a focus on Financial Modules. 
  • Proven expertise in Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), including advanced proficiency in modules such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, and General Ledger.
  • Advanced skills in PL/SQL programming for custom development and advanced data analysis.
  • Extensive experience with Oracle Forms, Reports, Workflow, and BI Publisher.
  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle APIs and open interfaces related to Financial Modules.
  • Knowledge of Application Object Library: Executables and Concurrent program setups, Alerts, Functions/Forms, Menus/Responsibilities, Profiles, and Document Attachments
  • Solid understanding of software development best practices, including version control, testing, and documentation.
  • Oracle Applications – SQL, PL/SQL, Development tools, OA framework, workflows, Application object library, UNIX shell scripting etc.
  • Experienced in building interfaces with other applications using flat file transfers, database links or other methods. 
  • Middleware experience preferred.
  • Experience in Oracle Applications implementation or upgrades – preferred
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with business and project team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment, helping peers resolve issues.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and within changing priorities
