Position Summary

The Online Marketing Manager is responsible for the regular engagement of Customers through eCommerce channels, focusing on conversion-driven marketing including, but not limited to, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM), and email marketing. This role sets the strategy and plan for marketing initiatives on STERIS’s global eCommerce websites, ensuring targeted acquisition, engagement, and conversion of Customers and regular improvement of key performance metrics. The Online Marketing Manager works closely with the eCommerce IT and merchandising teams and other downstream marketing roles within the Healthcare and Life Sciences organizations to ensure the effective development and implementation of initiatives and the delivery of an exceptional online Customer experience.

Duties

Online Marketing - 50%
•    Owns the eCommerce marketing strategy, planning, and execution of business objectives in support of the Healthcare and Life Sciences business growth strategy
•    Works with stakeholders to develop online marketing strategies and campaigns for downstream marketing initiatives 
•    Manages site content for all eCommerce-enabled products, including category pages, product detail pages, marketing ad spots
•    Manages the strategy, execution, vendor relationships, and budget for the eCommerce search engine marketing program, including both Organic Search and Paid Search acquisition channels 
•    Develop and implement SEM strategies to support marketing plans and campaigns
•    Establishes benchmark metrics and performance targets for organic search and paid search and routinely documents best practices
•    Tracks return on investment from marketing initiatives through the organic search and paid search acquisition channels and makes recommendations for future improvements
•    Regularly reports metrics and recommendations to business partners and product marketing teams
•    Stays current with eCommerce and online marketing trends and makes strategic recommendations for new marketing initiatives

Online Optimization and User Experience - 30% 
•    Champions the online Customer experience for eCommerce – for data collection and analysis from quantitative and qualitative inputs and uses data inputs to prioritize optimization recommendations to influence user experience and conversion metrics
•    Manages the strategy and execution of all conversion optimization projects utilizing Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback, behavioral data, and best practices to scope elements of optimization tests, working with vendors to determine appropriate testing methodology, managing the design and development of variable creatives, obtaining stakeholder signoff, and reporting on testing outcomes 

Additional Responsibilities 
•    Brings new knowledge and best practices to the business, maintains professional and technical knowledge, participates in educational opportunities, stays up-to-date on new technologies that can enhance the performance of online channels for the company 
 

Required Experience

•    3+ years of experience in an online/eCommerce marketing role
•    3-5 years of SEO experience
•    Proficient understanding of Google AdWords, including campaign development, implementation and analysis, Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools, and Display Advertising.
•    Experience with HCL eCommerce a plus
•    5+ years of experience in email marketing campaign strategy development, measurement, and execution
•    Proficient in various email marketing systems 
•    Experience in triggered lead nurturing and transactional email campaigns
•    Experience in managing vendor relationships
•    Experience in copywriting, positioning, targeting, email list management, data segmentation, and CRM familiarity 
•    Tradition marketing experience is beneficial
•    Familiar with roles, responsibilities, and call points within the hospital setting, a plus
•    Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Internet savvy
•    Ability to manage multiple projects while working in a fast-paced environment
•    Ability to work with people effectively across all levels within/outside the corporation
