Position Summary

STERIS is looking for a 2nd Shift Precision Assembler to join our Endoscopy team! This is a great opportunity for you to make an immediate impact while continuing to learn and grow in your professional career. The General Assembler is responsible for performing assembly work utilizing lean principles (one-piece flow) to produce FDA regulated devices in a controlled work environment. Performs assembly work utilizing lean principles (one-piece flow) to produce FDA regulated devices in a controlled work environment.  

Hours: Monday - Friday from 2:30pm - 10:30pm OR Monday - Thursday from 3:30pm - 1:30am

Duties

  • Assemble components to include gluing, weaving, packaging, coiling, welding using various hand tools and bench top pneumatic presses
  • Handle and evaluate quality of small parts during manufacturing processes
  • Troubleshoot simple equipment malfunctions
  • Promote and support a safe working environment
  • Inform team lead/supervisor of any problems pertaining to production, parts, equipment, or processes
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment
  • Supports and promotes LEAN operations by following standard work to include Safety Observations, Idea Generation and Hour by Hour Board updates
  • Duties and responsibilities contained in this job description may change at any time
  • Standing/Walking expectation up to 70% - 100% daily

Education Degree

  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Experience

  •  Previous assembly experience with small parts preferred.

  • Communication - Ability to read, understand and communicate oral and written instructions in English.
  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving parts and equipment variation while maintaining quality expectations. Ability to identify, communicate, and trouble shoot problems. 
  • Teamwork - Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with other employees. 
  • Computer Skills - Will be required to enter data at a computer terminal. 
  • Mathematical Skills - Basic counting and arithmetic skills required.
