Position Summary

The Quality Technician is responsible for conducting evaluations on medical devices in need of repair, utilizing software to generate customer estimates based on the evaluations, and conducting post-repair inspections to ensure the highest standards of quality assurance.

Duties

  • Evaluate all devices according to procedural guidelines.
  • Enter observation codes and/or service codes into Oracle.
  • Balance workload according to priority procedure.
  • Inspect devices for conformity according to procedural guidelines.
  • Interface with Customer Service or Repair Coordinator via email to obtain additional repair details.
  • May evaluate incoming components in accordance with procedural guidelines to accurately determine their conformance with requirements and/or specifications and to minimize false acceptance/rejection. Interfaces with purchasing/material departments and repair operations. Interfaces with component suppliers regarding technical inspection concerns.
  • Identifies surgical devices by various type, use, and functionality. Inspect devices to determine what type of repair and/or adjustment is required.
  • Collects, organizes, and analyzes data as determined by Supervisor/Management.
  • Assists in training new/existing Quality Control, level I technicians as required.
  • Ability to estimate repair costs and issue quotes to Device Coordinators.
  • Inspects testing equipment to ensure that it is within calibration date.
  • Abides by all Company safety and health policies and procedures. Must use personal protective equipment if required.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork (i.e., logging devices and completed repairs).
  • Improve results for assigned areas to increase revenue, profit, personnel development, and asset readiness.

Required Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required, along with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a role within a repair operations service environment.
  • Bachelor's degree along with at least three to five years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience is preferred.
